Which NODE to Buy?Posted onI bought the Node2i Dac Streamer during the pandemic. It was a nice choice for improving my 2-channel system. However, I was skeptical about replacing it with upgrades Node and Node X. Bluesound was leading in the value and budget audio market. Recently, the DAC/streamer has been among the hottest segments of the audio market. Eversolo, Wiim, Cambridge, and others have turned heads. To face new competitors, Bluesound has now stepped up with 3 new entries the Node Nano, the Node 2024, and the Node Icon. I was impressed by Tarun, "The British Audiophile" who declared the Node Nano was the BEST SOUNDING DAC at less than 1000 pounds sterling. Tarun is never given to loose hyperbole, at $399. CAD nothing sounds better to me. Great midrange, tight bass, sweet natural treble, wider sound stage, better instrumental detail, and joyful female vocals, keep me listening for more and more. I chose the NANO for a low price. I will keep the NANO because I love it.

Known issue, no plans to fixPosted onThe USB output is worthless with certain DACs (Wavelength, AudioQuest Dragonfly). The Nano does not recognize asynchronous USB, so it does not process feedback from the DAC. Bluesound is aware of the issue and does not have any plans to resolve it. Save your money if you have a high quality DAC.

Stunningly clear and open sound. . . .Posted onSpent most of yesterday afternoon and evening revisiting old favourites from my playlists, only this time through the Nano. Oh boy. I thought my previous streaming solution was good. It was but it’s not a patch on the Bluesound. This tiny little unassuming box belies its audio qualities. I described the new sound I was experiencing to a couple of friends: it’s as if the living room wall has been knocked down and the jazz musicians are now playing to me through the hole. Most impressive. The Nano has not only increased the width of my soundstage but given me a palpable depth and height. It’s like there’s a sphere of sound in front of me.
